Course Title:Equine Dentistry
Course
Description:		An introduction to equine dentistry. Topics to be covered include: instrumentation, sedation, handling, floating with hand and power tools. Extraction of deciduous and permanent teeth via intraoral extraction and various surgical techniques. The labs will involve both cadaver skulls and live horses.
Athena Title:EQ DENTISTRY
Nontraditional Format:There will be six hours of lecture and two 3-hour labs per week for three of the five weeks of the elective period in which this course is taught.
Prerequisite:Course will be open to students in the second, third, or fourth years of the veterinary curriculum
