Students will enhance their understanding and knowledge of Korean society, culture, and history by studying fictional and documentary films from Korea. Representative topics examined in this class include colonialism, post-colonialism, war, the national division, family, women’s lives, shamanism, Confucianism, Buddhism, modernization, and the impact of Globalization.
