Course Title:Peer Learning Assistants in American Sign Language
Course
Description:
Students will serve as Peer Learning Assistants (PLAs) in a 1000- and 2000-level American Sign Language course. Working alongside the instructor, PLAs will serve as a resource to help students learn language functions and concepts, help promote language and culture models, and provide instructional support in and out of class.
Athena Title:AMSL Peer Learning Assistant
Nontraditional Format:Students will serve as Peer Learning Assistants for 3 hours per week in 1000- and 2000- level American Sign Language courses. In addition, they will spend up to 3 additional hours providing instructional support for the American Sign Language course.
Pre or Corequisite:(AMSL 1010 or AMSL 1010E) and (AMSL 1020 or AMSL 1020E)
