Course Title:Introduction to Music Education
Course
Description:		Provides an introduction to the music education profession. It will examine practices and principles of music teaching and learning, historical foundations of American music education, and sociological, political, and curricular influences that have shaped its development. It will provide an opportunity for students to take a panoramic view of the profession and critically reflect upon issues of school music teaching and their role as music educators. Field experience in the schools will be required.
