Course Title:	Social Welfare Policy and Services
Course Description:	Social insurance, public assistance, and social service programs in the United States. Social welfare within a capitalist economy and an individualistic, democratic society. The influences of American economics and politics on social services and social work practice. Introduction to models of policy analysis.
Athena Title:	SW Policy and Services
Nontraditional Format:	Learning teams, which promote critical thinking, research, writing and discussion skills, and which require extensive work out of class, will be used.
Prerequisite:	(SOWK 2154 or SOWK 2154S) and SOWK 2155 and (SOWK 2156 or SOWK 2156E) and permission of department
