Course Title:	Poultry Diseases
Course Description:	The etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention, control, and treatment of infectious diseases of poultry. General aspects of biosecurity, food safety, welfare, and population medicine in commercial poultry.

Equivalent Courses:	Not open to students with credit in AVMD 5250
Nontraditional Format:	This course will be offered as a regular elective course with class lectures and one laboratory practicum to include basic bird anatomy, bird handling, and sampling and postmortem examination techniques.
Prerequisite:	Enrollment in the 2nd year of the veterinary medicine curriculum
Semester Course Offered:	Offered spring semester every year.
