Introduction to Marine Biology Lab

Students will observe live marine organisms collected from the Georgia coast and learn about the physiology, ecology, and behavior of these organisms through hands-on experiences. In this course, students will also work collaboratively in groups to carry out field and laboratory-based experiments focused on relevant organisms and emerging issues in Marine Sciences.

Biology of the Marine Environment

Exploration of marine life, with emphasis on diversity and ecological function of communities in different marine habitats (from shallow waters to the deep ocean). How marine communities interact the ocean environment and influence global cycles. Connecting marine ecological processes and scientific understanding to human wellbeing and economic prosperity.
