Course ID:	JOUR 5170. 1-3 hours. Repeatable for maximum 9 hours credit.
Course Title:	Advanced Studies in Journalism
Course Description:	Independent study or special projects in journalism for majors in journalism. Written proposal outlining the work to be undertaken must be submitted and receive the instructor's approval before the student will be permitted to register for the course. Students will be responsible for ensuring the funding of their projects.

Nontraditional Format:	This course is an independent study and has no lecture/lab hours.
Prerequisite:	(JOUR 3030 or JOUR 3030E or JOUR 3030H) and permission of department
