Course Title:Internship in Professional and Technical Communication
Course
Description:
An internship with a business, technical, or scientific enterprise of the student's choice, with departmental approval and under the direction of the Undergraduate English Program Office and onsite internship advisor. Internship work may include writing, publishing, and editing professional communication. The internship will culminate with a final academic project.

Nontraditional Format:Students receiving one credit hour will work six to ten hours a week at a professional venue and turn in short weekly logs, a short final paper summarizing their experiences, and a portfolio of written projects produced. Students receiving three credit hours will work six hours a week at a professional venue, will perform research under the direction of a faculty mentor, and will produce, in addition to a portfolio, a substantial academic project.
