Course Description: | Examine various aspects of the dance experience and explore the mover, dance maker/choreographer, and viewer. Historical and critical readings, video viewings, and assignments investigating the art of dance and dance as part of the human experience; develop skills in articulating personal responses to dance. |

Course Objectives: | • To provide an opportunity to view dance through anthropological, psychological, sociological, and aesthetic points of view.

• To provide an overview of dance in various forms and develop skills to speak and write about dance.
• To provide an understanding of dance as a form of recreation and a source of entertainment.
• To provide an understanding of dance as a component of the human experience. |
