Course Objectives: | 1. Students will demonstrate an understanding of developmental issues of childhood and adolescence.
2. Students will evidence a greater understanding of clinical and programmatic interventions.
3. Students will develop a basic understanding of family counseling approaches.
4. Students will demonstrate a basic level of skill in family interventions.
5. Students will show an awareness of research related to child and family intervention.
6. Students will master the basic terminology and constructs that help teachers, parents, and counselors understand the behavior of children and adolescents.
7. Students will demonstrate a working knowledge of appropriate appraisal instruments.
8. Students will develop a greater understanding of typical behavior and adjustment problems of children and adolescents.
