Course Description: | Investigation of current issues at the intersection(s) of
cultural diversity, technology, and learning. Though designed
especially for students who are or plan to be educators, this
course is appropriate for students in all majors who are
interested in such issues. |

Course Objectives: | Students will develop understandings and dispositions to act upon
their understandings of:
--The nature of culture and the multiple cultures in which we all
participate;
--Some aims and principles of multicultural education/education
for diversity;
--How diversity in race, language, gender, socioeconomic status,
and/or abilities affects people's lives, learning, education, and
technology access and use, nationally and globally;
--How emerging technologies can sometimes increase national and
global inequities in opportunity and learning due to such
diversity;
--How emerging technologies have been and can be used to
encourage learning, increase equity of opportunity, and enhance
the lives of all people, especially through education. |
