Course Objectives: | Students will be able to:
- Describe the foundations of curriculum theory.
- Articulate how the predominant, colonized curriculum excludes the history, contributions, accomplishments, and ideas of people who have been historically marginalized.
- Analyze the relationships between and among teachers, young adolescent learners, and curriculum.
- Apply a variety of curriculum planning frameworks.
- Evaluate and determine a plan for addressing key curricular and assessment issues at the school level, the team level, and/or the classroom level.
- Evaluate the implications for curriculum and assessment when teachers are positioned as curriculum designers. |
