Course Objectives: | Students will be able to:
1. Utilize the National Standards for teaching history.
2. Recall information about U.S., World, and local history
needed to teach in social studies classrooms.
3. Utilize knowledge of history to prepare lessons for
teaching history in social studies classrooms.
4. Develop course materials for teaching history in social
studies classrooms that display the use of effective pedagogy.
5. Compose course materials that reflect creative use of
historical knowledge.
6. Discuss major issues related to teaching history.
