Course Objectives: | This discussion-based class provides guidance on key activities
needed to become a successful professional scientist. The course
focuses on developing conscious and active strategies for
transitioning into graduate education and a research-based
academic environment. |

individuals in the class, and will be graded individually.
However, students are encouraged to collaborate when preparing
for class and reading course materials and may be assigned to
work in small groups. Students will be expected to abide by
the UGA honor code in all aspects of this course. Any
infringements of the honor code that come to the instructor’s
attention will be remanded to Academic Affairs for disciplinary
