Course Objectives: | After completion of this course, students should be able to:
1. Describe human sexual anatomy and physiology, arousal and response, conception and contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, and varieties of sexual behaviors, relationships, and practices.
2. Clarify feelings about sexuality issues through personal readings and class discussions and activities.
3. Engage in discourse on gender as it relates to sexuality and society.
4. Describe cultural perspectives other than our own with regard to sexual behaviors and attitudes.
5. Develop skills for more effective communication with individuals and groups.
6. Counter myths and fallacies about human sexuality.
7. Describe the physical, social, and emotional aspects of human sexuality.
8. Practice educational strategies that promote healthy sexual behaviors. |
