Course Description: | Each student will work with a new faculty mentor designing a
writing plan for the rest of their time in the program and
rigorously revising the work they produced in their first
semester. |

Course Objectives: | Students will learn to design a writing plan for a long-term
project. With the guidance of a faculty mentor, students will
develop the skills to plan, research, and write a long-term
project in narrative nonfiction. |
Topical Outline: | I. Designing a writing strategy for a long-form narrative.
II. Writing, rewriting, and revising the narrative manuscript.
III. Responding to and incorporating notes from fellow
students, editors, and other readers.
IV. Editing and polishing the manuscript. |
