Course Objectives: | Produce professional landscape architecture design and construction documents using computer graphic applications (computer drafting with AutoCAD, landscape plan rendering with Adobe Photoshop, and basic 3D modeling using Google Sketch-UP).
Measurement: In-class exercises and applied projects.
Knowledge: Understand traditional drafting/drawing conventions and various reprographic methods and equipment.
Develop proficiency in computer applications and file management as well as in traditional drafting materials and equipment.
Comprehend the general importance of computer applications software in the landscape design and land planning professions.
Develop professional quality work demonstrating knowledge of sheet layout, title blocks, reprographic methods, and computer command skills.
Demonstrate knowledge of drafting lettering and line hierarchy; in addition to freehand graphics.
Produce scaled drawings, utilizing traditional drafting, and computer-aided design methods.
Learn and appreciate the ability to communicate graphically, think visually, and utilize graphics as part of the design process. |
Topical Outline: | The course will be taught using an online lecture/studio/computer lab format. Daily instruction will include lectures and demonstrations of equipment and techniques.
A student must complete all studio problems and take all exams.
