Course Objectives: | Theoretical Foundations
1. Students will examine and adopt critical literacy stances to
study the relationship between technology, learning, and
literacy.
Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
1. Students will examine and design successful technology
integration practices in literacy instruction in relation to
early literacy development, comprehension, and the
reading/writing process in digital domains.
2. Students will evaluate digital texts and tools that support
students’ engagement in digital literacy practices.
3. Students will examine and evaluate standards and assessment
procedures related to digital literacies.
Access and Diversity
4. Students will evaluate the affordances of digital reading
and writing in the study of the intersection of cultural
diversity, power, and digital literacy.
Professional Development
5. Students will reflect on and examine own dispositions,
fluency, and competences in digital literacy.
6. Students will identify and evaluate online networks and
resources for professional development in digital reading and
writing.
Digital Citizenship
7. Students will critically examine and apply guidelines for
