Course Description: | Explores the ways culture transacts with teaching and learning
in literacy classrooms. |

Course Objectives: | After taking this course, students should be better able to:
1. express a complex understanding of what is meant by culture
and how it transacts with literacy in our lives and,
particularly, in classrooms.
2. apply those understandings to literacy pedagogy and
professional learning.
3. construct stances and arguments regarding the role of
culture in literacy classrooms.
4. synthesize these understandings into new pedagogy and
