Course Title: | Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics |
Course Description: | Designed to train students on three principal objectives, which comprise the second and third stages of a drug discovery pipeline. Beyond its own course objectives, this course is the last of three two-credit course series that encompass aspects of the drug discovery pipeline. |
Oasis Title: | Biopharmaceut Pharmacokinet |
Nontraditional Format: | This course will be taught 95% or more online. |
Grading System: | A-F (Traditional) |
|
Course Objectives: | 1. What are biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics?
2. Will learn how to do non-compartment analysis (NCA) and
compartment analysis through various administration routes
including oral and intravenous (IV).
3. Will learn how PK relates to the genetics, which is known as
pharmacogenetics.
4. Will learn the principles of absorption, distribution,
metabolism, and excretion (ADME) and to apply these principles
to optimize a patient’s dosage regimen.
5. In terms of drug development, students will identify
hypothetical drugs that have suitable PK properties for drug
development. |
