Course Description: | Students are chosen on a competitive basis and work during the annual session of the Georgia General Assembly. |

Course Objectives: | To provide students with a real world experience in the legislative arena. Students
will observe the enactment of legislation, the interaction between legislators and
lobbyists and the influence of the executive branch on the legislative branch and
legislative oversight of the executive branch activities. Students will gain these
experiences by working with individual legislators, with legislative committees, in
the offices of legislative leaders, or with lobbyists. Students will be evaluated on
the basis of research papers. |
Topical Outline: | This is an internship; there is no outline since the responsibilities assigned to
students will vary from office to office. |
