| Course Objectives: | This course offers a broad survey of the criminal justice process and related public policy. Students will review the legal, political, and social dynamics of the criminal justice system. Students will examine the relevant institutions and actors involved with the various stages of the criminal justice system, including consideration of law enforcement, courts, and corrections. Students will attain an ability to critically analyze criminal justice system practices and procedures. Students will attain an ability to discuss criminal justice policy issues in a disciplined and cogent manner. |
