V. Social Sciences (9 hours)
- Students who have not met the Georgia and U.S. Constitution requirement by examination should enroll in POLS 1101 or POLS 1101E or POLS 1101H.
- A passing grade on an examination on the history of the United States and Georgia is required to satisfy the United States and Georgia History Requirement for all persons receiving a baccalaureate degree from the University, unless exempted by one of the following courses: HIST 2111, HIST 2111E, HIST 2111H, HIST 2112, HIST 2112E, HIST 2112H, HIST 3080H. Students who enter the University of Georgia College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences in the animal health major can graduate with a B.S.A. degree for this major only after successfully completing the coursework required in the first year of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine D.V.M. program. The animal health major is designed for students that plan on entering, and are accepted to, the College of Veterinary Medicine after 3 years or less of undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia. After the successful completion of the coursework from the first year of the D.V.M. program, this coursework will be used to complete the remaining hours of the Major Electives and General Electives of the animal health major. Students enrolled in the animal health major as a freshman must declare a co-major by the time they have completed 60 hours within the animal health major or if 60 hours have already been completed upon transfer, the co-major must be declared by the end of their first semester of enrollment at the University of Georgia. Students will complete the academic requirements of the co-major if they do not gain acceptance to the University of Georgia D.V.M. program.
