Course ID: | ENVE 4910. 2 hours. |
Course Title: | Capstone Design I |
Course Description: | First course in a two-semester sequence designed to provide
environmental engineering students with a major design
experience. Students will participate on a project team that
matches their interests and will be selected for participation
under guidance of Environmental Engineering faculty mentors. |
Oasis Title: | Capstone Design I |
Nontraditional Format: | Project teams will function independently albeit under the
guidance of faculty mentors. As this is a senior-level course,
students will fully engage in the application of the knowledge
developed throughout their engineering programs of study. |
Prerequisite: | (ENVE 2010 or ENVE 2920) and ENVE 3320 and ENVE 3220 |
Pre or Corequisite: | ENVE 4435/6435 |
Semester Course Offered: | Offered fall semester every year. |
Grading System: | A-F (Traditional) |
|
Course Objectives: | By the end of this course, students will have an understanding
of:
1) The engineering design methodology for problem-solving and
decision-making in complex issues relevant to environmental
engineering.
2) The application of specific engineering design standards
and constraints relevant to engineering practice. |
Topical Outline: | Design projects will be determined each semester. |
