Accounting MACC

Program Description

The mission of the J. M. Tull School of Accounting is to pursue excellence in accounting education. As a professional school in a major public research university, we are committed to teaching, research, and service that advances the accounting discipline and prepares future leaders for business and academia.

Students explore their interests through elective offerings and refine their skills by selecting a specialized track to study either audit, taxation, or advisory services. Finally, MAcc graduates enter careers with a powerful network of professional connections and Terry alumni to support them.

The MAcc program is traditionally completed in one year, after the completion of an undergrad degree. Alternatively, students may wish to select from several other paths. Earning a Master of Accountancy in a dual-degree program can provide students with an accelerated course of study and improved marketability in the post-graduate career environment.

Traditional MAcc: Completed in one year Five-year BBA MAcc: UGA accounting majors may earn both BBA and MAcc degrees simultaneously Double Dawg: Terry College non-accounting majors may earn both BBA and MAcc – Advisory degrees simultaneously JD/MAcc: Students who majored in accounting may earn both Juris Doctor and MAcc – Taxation degrees in this three-year program MAcc/MS Financial Planning: Students who majored in accounting may earn two master’s degrees and qualify to sit for the CPA, CFP and PFS exams in this three-semester program
