Admission Requirements for the Toxicology Program are as follows: a) Three letters of recommendations b) CV c) Statement purpose d) Unofficial transcript e) Minimum GPA scores should be 3.00 for undergraduates and 3.30 for graduate degrees. Submit a complete application, and have an ITP faculty member willing to serve as an Advisor. The ITP Admissions Committee will review all completed applications around November. After each review session, acceptance recommendations are sent to the Graduate School. The Graduate School will then send notifications to applicants. Current UGA Interdisciplinary Toxicology Program M.S. students who wish to transfer to the Ph.D. program should submit a complete application, including letters of recommendation, to the ITP program office for consideration by the admissions committee.

Important Note to Applicants: All successful UGA Interdisciplinary Toxicology Program applicants must have a toxicology faculty member who has agreed to take on/serve as a principal advisor. The applicant must identify faculty working in areas of interest and then begin a dialogue with those faculty members. The toxicology office must be informed of your progress in this area. It is always a good idea to view our Faculty listings and determine if anyone is doing research you are interested in also doing. Once you identify prospective faculty members, you should contact them.

Courses not allowed on a program of study are 7005 (Graduate Seminar), GRSC 7770, GRSC 9270, ELAN 7768, and ELAN/ 7769.

The program of study for Master of Science degree must contain a minimum of 30 hours of graduate course work. These 30 hours must include at least 21 hours of graduate course work exclusive of 7000 (research) and 7300 (thesis writing). Twelve of these 21 hours must be courses that are restricted to graduate students.

Select additional courses, as needed, in consultation with an advisor to meet the minimum number of required credit hours for this program.

Upon successful completion of the M.S. in Toxicology, students should be able to: a)Apply theory and toxicological principles in their research; and b)Evaluate public/occupational/environmental health recommendations for exposures to chemicals, pathogens or toxic materials.
