Course Description: | This course takes students through the stages of an organization's
existence and its corresponding leadership needs, plus looks at
specific situations such as leading in crisis. The course will
focus on identifying and building leadership skills, and enabling
students to match organizational lifestage to leadership style,
facilitating appropriate career choices. |

Course Objectives: | This course is intended to complement MGMT 7010:Developing
Leadership Skills. This particular course will take a strategic
leadership perspective on organizations and seek to develop
students' leadership skills in taking a strategic view of
organizations. This course is based on the observation that the
leadership needs of organizations vary by the stage of the
organizations existence, and tailors the skills developed
through these evolving leadership needs. This course takes you
through the stages of and organization's leadership needs, plus
looking at specific situations such as leading in crisis. We
will focus on identifying and building leadership skills, and
this course should enable students to identify which
organizational lifestage best fits their preferred leadership
style, facilitating appropriate career choices. |
