Minor in Geology

Program Description

A minor must contain at least 9 hours of upper division course work. Courses taken to satisfy Core Areas I through V may not be counted as course work in the minor. Courses taken in Core Area VI may be counted as course work in the minor.

The Geology minor is intended for students who wish to add background in selected areas of geoscience. The minor is ideal for students pursuing careers in other fields that benefit from additional understanding of earth resources, natural hazards, and the environment, such as biosciences, business, journalism, law, public policy, and education.
