Program Description

The Communication Sciences and Disorders Master’s programs prepare students to be evidence-based, client-centered, outcomes-focused, speech-language pathologists. The M.A. program integrates coursework, an on-campus clinical practicum, off-campus clinical internships, and completion of a Master’s thesis. Our faculty have research, clinical, and community collaboration expertise across the field of communication sciences and disorders. You will benefit from this expertise through high quality, evidence-based instruction, clinical opportunities, mentored research, and outreach to the community.

The M.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders includes coursework across the lifespan in: - Diagnostics, clinical methods, and application of research in speech-language pathology - Speech sound disorders, fluency, voice, and resonance - Language and literacy assessment and intervention - Dysphagia - Acquired speech, language, and cognitive disorders - Multicultural issues and interprofessional practice - Augmentative and alternative communication This program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and approved by the Georgia Department of Education.
