The Master of Plant Protection and Pest Management (MPPPM) is an interdisciplinary, non-thesis professional Master’s degree program coordinated among the departments of Entomology, Crop and Soil Sciences, and Plant Pathology in the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia. The program is designed to produce graduates with comprehensive, multidisciplinary training in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) of insect/mite, plant disease, and weed pests of agricultural and horticultural crops. The goal of the MPPPM program is to train students to be proficient in solving the types of pest management problems routinely encountered by growers and other agricultural professionals. MPPPM graduates are trained for employment as IPM professionals in the pest control industry; pesticide, fertilizer, and seed industries; cooperative extension; and regulatory agencies.
