Counseling Psychology is a specialty emphasizing normal and optimal human functioning across the lifespan with a strength-based approach to facilitating change. The program is an APA-accredited 5-year full-time scientist-practitioner doctoral program that prepares graduates for careers as health service psychologists. The program’s training mission reflects our commitment to multiculturalism, social justice, and advocacy. As health service psychologists, students provide evidence-based to culturally relevant services in a variety of research and practice settings to meet the needs of diverse cultural and linguistic communities in Georgia and across the nation.
