Welcome to the Poultry Science Graduate Program at UGA! The best way to begin the process of applying for admission to a graduate program in the Department of Poultry Science is to contact a prospective faculty advisor with which you share common interests. This is because you cannot be admitted as a graduate student in the department without a faculty mentor.
We recommend that you start by sending prospective faculty advisors an email describing your experience, your research interests and how they fit into the faculty’s research program, your most recent GPA or unofficial transcript, and your GRE scores (if known). Once a faculty member has agreed to take you on as a student in his/her laboratory, you can then submit an application to the graduate school. This application will be forwarded to the Poultry Science department for a departmental decision, and the Graduate School will send the final notification of acceptance.
STEP 1: Identify a prospective faculty member by perusing faculty research interests at: https://poultry.caes.uga.edu/people/faculty.html
STEP 2: Contact the prospective faculty member.
STEP 3: Once the prospective faculty member has agreed that you have a common interest, submit the following application materials to the UGA Graduate School:

GRE scores (and TEOFL or IELTS if needed)
Three letters of recommendation
A statement of your research interests
*Note that International Students do NOT need TOEFL/IELTS scores if a degree was received from an accredited US institution or from an institution where English is the primary language.
