A minor must contain at least 9 hours of upper- division course work. Courses taken to satisfy Core Areas I through V may not be counted as course work in the minor. Courses taken to satisfy Core Area VI may be counted as course work in the minor.
The minor in International Human Rights and Security provides both theoretical and practical knowledge in the human rights and security fields. Students will understand the history and current structure of institutions designed to protect basic human rights and human security, as well as the causes and consequences of human rights abuse.
