A minor must contain at least 9 hours of upper division course work. Courses taken to satisfy Core Areas I through V may not be counted as course work in the minor. Courses taken in Core Area VI may be counted as course work in the minor.
Latin American and Caribbean Studies offers broad-based and multidisciplinary comprehensive perspective of the region and the opportunity to investigate targeted areas of interest such as African American studies, agricultural leadership, anthropology, history, international affairs, journalism and mass communication, literature and culture, music, sociology, and theater. LACS also includes language training in Spanish, Portuguese, Quechua, and/or French. Students may also satisfy the language requirement via a language placement test.
