The Sports Media Certificate program, open to all UGA undergraduates regardless of major, teaches students fundamental skills in sports journalism and communications to prepare them for a range of career paths - from sports broadcasting to digital and social media to media relations. Students in the Sports Media Certificate program will: Study the interplay of sport in media and society. Acquire multimedia skills with a cross-platform, future-oriented mindset. Get advanced training in sports media specialties including broadcasting and production, social and digital media production, enterprise reporting and writing, and media relations. Gain real-world experience throughout their time in the program, crowned by a practicum in their particular area of interest.
