Students will be taught skills related to effective internal and external consulting in order to facilitate the service-learning project requirement for ILA fellows.

Research and design phase of the Institute for Leadership Advancement’s service-learning project component for Leonard Leadership Scholars. The curriculum will focus on how to scope and manage a change initiative within a non-profit or rural community. Topics will include qualitative research, relationship building, project management, and problem solving.

A comprehensive review of the theory and practice of leadership - through the exploration of diverse leadership models students will develop a critical understanding of each approach's strengths and limitations. Emphasis is placed on applying these theories to real-world contexts with teams engaging in service-learning projects that address organizational needs.

Exploration of the various aspects of business leadership on a global level through a study abroad trip. Specifically, students will study leadership principles from a global perspective and then apply them to solve real-world problems and issues through a class project.

This course focuses on the skills needed to develop the capacity to foster a psychologically safe workplace. Self-assessment, case analyses, experiential exercises, and discussions are used to develop the skills needed to lead diverse teams in the global work environment.

Practical tactics, techniques and strategies will be used to ensure students are prepared for leadership roles.
