The New Media Institute (NMI) is an interdisciplinary academic unit dedicated to exploring the critical, commercial, and creative dimensions of emerging technologies. The New Media Certificate supplements any undergraduate major and is a credential that demonstrates a student is technowledgeable: the understanding of new media technologies and their application in a chosen field. Certificate students have access to hands-on classroom environments, innovative technologies, and networking opportunities that lead to jobs. The New Media Certificate is open to students in all undergraduate majors. To earn the certificate, a student must complete 17 hours of coursework: 11 hours of NMIX core curriculum, plus 6 hours of electives.
