Mathematics Education BSED



Overview

The Mathematics Education program at the University of Georgia offers a nationally accredited program that prepares students to teach mathematics in secondary school (grades 6-12) and beyond. The program emphasizes a blend of mathematical studies, professional studies, and practical experience in schools. Students study the latest developments in curriculum and instruction, including instructional technology. Graduates of the Teacher Certification option receive the Bachelor of Science in Education degree and are eligible for initial certification in Georgia. Graduates who choose the Educational Studies in Mathematics Education option are prepared for a wide range of options, including further study in mathematics and mathematics education, however, this option does not include Teacher Certification.
