Philosophy AB

Overview

Philosophy seeks to answer fundamental questions about the nature of reality and our knowledge of it; about the sources of meaning and value in human life; and the relationship of human beings to each other, to the natural world, and to the built environment. The A.B. in Philosophy at the University of Georgia is designed to guide the student in the systematic investigation of these questions. This involves studying historical and contemporary texts from a range of philosophical traditions and assessing the positions and arguments found in them. Students will acquire crucial philosophical skills in analyzing, evaluating, and developing philosophical arguments.
